Christi Bauerlee became most notably recognized for her version of
the Edwin Starr classic, “War,” which aired every Monday night for
two seasons as the theme song for the hit TV show “Family Law” on
CBS.   She has performed along side artists like John Waite, Lisa Loeb,
Ricky Fante, Kimberly Locke and many others…. As well as lent her
voice to doing voiceovers, various tribute albums, and backup vocals.
Most recently, she was interviewed and showcased several songs on
the legendary  Grand Ole Opry WSM Radio, she sang back up vocals
on Neil Young's controversial "Living In War" Album at Capital
Records. Christi has been seen and heard on Star Search, Days of Our
Lives, Mind of Mencia, Lawless, Jake 2.0, Family Law, Something about
Mary, Pensacola, Striptease, Saved By the Light and several other Film
and Television Shows.

“Working Girls Dream” was her first single she released on her own,
which was heard on radio stations throughout the country, and
moved fast up the Music Row Chart.  Her album received great
reviews in just the first couple weeks of release.  Her latest recordings
have been showcased from Nashville to California.  WKDF in Nashville
and by popular demand her interview and songs were played every
night on KHAY radio in Ventura, CA.

On July 31st 2000, she experienced a tragedy that would become a
turning point in her life.  She almost lost her little brother
Ted to a
traumatic Brain Injury that was caused by a car accident.  The
accident left him in a coma for several months, given him only a 5%
chance to live.  She gave up everything to be by his side with her
family.  She believes that Prayer, Love, Faith, and MUSIC contributed
to her brother’s survival, who learned to walk and talk again.  She
wrote
Teddy’s Song one morning when she woke up next to him
while he lied still in a coma.  At this point Christi knew that she had
arrived at her musical crossroads.

Christi is filming a documentary that she hopes will bring the urgency
for better Brain Injury Rehabilitation to the forefront. She is working
along side the Brain Injury Association of America, Ernie Irvan,
NASCAR, and The National Guard on several upcoming concerts for
the L.A.P.S WALK through out the country to raise awareness for
Brain Injury and Safety, and help support those coming home from
Iraq to accommodate their injuries.  She just participated in the the
5K Run/Walk with her family for the Brain Injury Association of
Maryland and lends her voice as well as her songwriting, to help
support many other charitable causes that she believes in, which
include Breast Cancer Research, St. Judes Hospital and various Animal
Rescue’s.   Christi hopes to eventually start an organization that will
help facilitate information and Guidance for Families of Traumatic Brain
Injury.

Christi’s passion has always been to be an entertainer. Growing up,
she would spend hours at a time locked in her room writing,
recording, and singing to her favorite songs. She won and competed
in several county and state talent competitions.

She moved to Miami where she modeled and got involved in television
and film projects like "Lawless", "Striptease", "Saved By The Light",
"Gone Fishing", and "Something About Mary".  Christi did the National
Print and Commercial Campaign for Yamaha’s Wave Runner’s and
Exciter Boats. She traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to work on a television
show and was given the opportunity to contribute some of her time to
charitable work.  Returning back home, she eventually made her way
on to Star Search and was a finalist in the spokesmodel competition.

Christi later moved to Los Angeles where she worked on shows like
“Days of our Lives”, “Jenny McCarthy Show”, and “Pensacola”,
although she realized she missed doing what her true passion was,
which was singing and writing music.  She began focusing more on
her music with the encouragement of those around her.  She sang for
writers and then later began co-writing with them.  Christi met
longtime friend and collaborator Tom Fletcher, whom with she wrote
and recorded her first album.  The album had a bit more pop rock
direction than the blues, country and southern rock influence she had
focused on prior.

She was recognized as AOL's ARTIST OF THE WEEK in November
2002, then offered a spot to Showcase at the Nashville Music
Conference, which hosted industry reps and wonderful talent from all
around the world.  This was her first taste of Nashville.

It was then that Christi realized that her heart and her songwriting
most belonged in country music.  Christi put together songs that she
had written as well as tunes from other accomplished writers, and
began working at American Recording in Calabasas, CA., and with the
collaborations of Ritchie Podolor, Bill Cooper, and all of the amazing
musicians that were involved; Christi recorded an album that she
was proud of.

Nashville has become more home to her, or better yet, maybe it's
brought her closer to home, but she still writes and records in LA
quite a bit.   She's finally found her place.  Christi feels at home with
Country Music and hopes that Country Music and Country fans feel
the same.  With her passion for performing and songwriting, Christi
wants to be able to contribute to the beauty, excitement and poetry
that country music offers.
